It all started with the intro of Disney in our life!
My first ever tv show being The Lizzie Mcquire Show!!! Days when i didn even know who hilary duff was, i was probably her no 1 fan :P
After that were the hanna montana ones ( can't believe i was once crazy abt her show!!! ) , zack and cody , wizards , the jonas bro , etc etc etc!!
But please , its a disgrace to even call those a television show for what we watch now :P
Grey's anatomy marks my beginning at this , as a beginner i started with the show wit 6 seasons then and went to two complete rounds of the same again, before moving to the next tv show!! No words to express it , its a complete package , the romance to hot leads to dialogues and the gripping screenplay , THE best EVA!!!
Though way before this i had started watching friends and others , Grey's is the one that initiated the addiction towards the tv shows!The obsession went crazy with finishing friends first , following it up all the star world shows like castle and how i met your mother!
Friends and How i met your mother are like this cherry on top of a yummy cake , additional delights , which one can watch over and over again!!
Oh, and not to forget star world!!!! it is India's best television channel and i owe everything to it ! The entry of d satellite dish is one of the best things that happened to us , well definitely after the unlimited free download internet services :P
Even , there are days when i switched to complete drama , just and only just to drool over chad micheal murray did i complete 8 seasons of one tree hill :D
the list goes on and on to , house md , vampire diaries to the latest pretty lil liars which i watched during my entire study holidays on tv ( morning and eve show)! It is not even half of the "actual" list but i really don't wanna embarrass myself here :P
Lol.. the very reason i am even sitting and writing this article and not busy watching something is because i finished everything possible to watch , and all the tv shows being on a winter break (Oh!! I hate the breaks , winter break , summer break , season break! Aaarghh! ) and my strong resolution to not start anything new.
There are a couple ( or more ) of my friends who share this same passion wit me and remarkably most of our conversation starters , enders and middlers are about d very same!! its absolutely crazy to see someone get ecstatic when a lead pair of a series gt back together after their 6th or 7th break up :P , or mad when a fav character gets killed or thrown outta the show. But it happens all the time , swear, half of my statuses or wall posts or d posts on mine would be about tv shows only!
Well , yea , all tv shows are skeptically the same with the same kind of leads , or if its a csi , the same kind of cases , or its a comedy , its the same kind of friends in the same kind of places ! but who cares? each of them give us new faces , new characters and entirely new entertainment! :D
To say , I've actually grown a lot wit tv shows.. each show a different perception on various things in life..
grey's showed us the world of doctors , the stress , the complications and d joy of being one!! trust me , my parents are docs and in all the life time i've known them never have i been inspired to be one, but grey's on d other hand made me at least consider it for few minutes!! ( I was an avid doctor-hater back then which i truly regretted after pursuing engineering! )
house is yet another miracle ! Ask me to name any disease in any letter of the alphabets , i can at least quote 10 in each!!!!! and his sarcasm , Hugh Laurie , best actor one has ever seen!!
And drama , watching my gran watch all tamil soaps and her obsession to it , comparing it to my state , i then convinced myself i at least don't watch some soapy never-ending drama ! but soon enough, One tree hill struck hard, chad and basket ball together lured me to watch in the first place. i was definite i wouldn't last a season , but now i just CANNOT compare it with the tamil serials , d plots , the suspense and just the way he carried the story together, i just couldn't come up to stop watching it! 'Cause the very word drama denote entirely different meanings in above contexts!!
if one let me , i could write pages on each show separately so i think i'd rather take leave now! :P
Oops!
even now , before i could finish writing this article , i had a change of mind to just break my only resolution this year! :P
The Big Bang Theory here i come :D
